CORTISOL: THE HORMONE THAT MAKES FAT LOSS NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE

We already covered how 90% of our body fat is created from sugars, and that when sugar levels are high and stay high, insulin levels go up and stay up, and fat loss is slowed or prevented entirely, even when we exercise. 

But there's another aspect to this, another hormone that comes into play when sugar levels are high: Cortisol. And this further affects our body's ability to lose excess body fat, build muscle and even recover well. 

Cortisol is one of the most important hormones in our body, largely responsible for our bodies inflammatory response, healing and recovery, as well as energy levels in an emergency situation.

But when it gets too high, and stays high, it can keep that inflammatory response going, slowing recovery, lowering energy levels, raising stress, preventing fat loss, and even causing us to gain excess body fat.
